Spain Allows Medicine derived from Cannabis

The medicine that Spain has declared safe and legal that contains THC is for patients with MS (Multiple Sclerosis). The Health Minister Trinidad Jimenez said that Cannabis has been studied for many years and the clinical trials have proven its efficacy as a safe and beneficial medication.

Although the health minister declared that Cannabis has not been approved for other uses such as cancer yet, it is approved for severe muscle spasms and the like. The approved cannabis based drug is called Sativex, and is administered orally with an aerosol applicator much like asthma medicine.

Many people believe that it is only a matter of time before our FDA approves Sativex for medicinal use in the United States much like Marinol.

GW Pharmaceuticals the maker of Sativex said that they will continue to look for approval in other countries.
